Istanbul's Yavuz Sultan Selim bridge links Europe, Asia for the third time
Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Istanbul's third bridge connect to european and asian sides of Istanbul. The bridge, built above the northern part of the bosporus strait, was named after 16th century ottoman sultan Selim.
Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge cost 3 billion dolar.
The ceremony was also attended by Bahrain's king Hamad bin Isa AL-Khalifa, Macedonian President Gjorge IVANOV, Turkish Republice of Northen Cyprus Presiden Mustafa AKINCI, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko BORISOV as well as other senior offical from Pakistan,Georgia and Serbia.
All tucks and heavy-duty vehicles will be directed to the bridge to traffic on the other bridges. Will be no charge for passage from the asian to the eruopean side.
The bridge was completed within a record-breaking 27 months time frame, nine months ahead of schedule.
